Abstract
Considers aspects of the social interactions that transpired for three children who attend Playcentre, a mixed-age early childhood setting in New Zealand. Using a qualitative multiple case study approach, these children (aged 1yr 6 mth, 3 yr 3mth and 4 yr 8 mth) were observed as they interacted in their Playcentre environment. The presentation considers some of the interactions that occurred with mixed-age peers as well as the interactions with peers of the same-age.
