Abstract

Course leadership can be the focus of a single academic staff member – they are expert in a particular area and backup from others may be limited. However, in some core courses in the School of Business, a more collaborative approach has been developed. In these courses (which are offered in more than one trimester and have good enrolments), two academic staff members share course leadership in a variety of ways. Using a panel approach, contributions from three groups of co-course leaders will be outlined. Looking at the different approaches, this presentation examines stories from the experience of the three groups, outlining where they have worked, where there are problems and how they can assist in improving learner engagement.
